european girl's guide to stripes

March 30, 2017

If you follow along with me on my other instagram account, @brunchandbags, you know that I’m inspired by all things cafe chic, and there’s nothing European girls do better than perfect the effortless on-the-go look. Now that the snow is melting, it’s a great time to reassess your wardrobe for spring. I’m sure you’re all like me, staring at your closet in the morning wondering what on earth to wear. To help fight the in beteween season blues and I’ve joined together with Marks & Spencer to give your closet a little loving for spring!

After tossing my turtlenecks and puffer coats into storage, I was left with my favorite statement jeans and some empty shelves. What to do? Take those jeans and layer layer layer with shirts, sweaters, and light weight jackets of course! I hunted for fresh striped tees and striped sweaters like this one I’m wearing here.

Stripes are great for mixing and matching (they’re on everything I’m wearing!), so your wardrobe can be more flexible. I draped a M&S pinstriped blazer as a nod to the European girl look while providing a little extra warmth while running around the city...or running to brunch cough cough.

Accessories are really help change your aesthetic from New England to European. To dress up my stripes, I’ve adopted the art of the neck scarf! This accessory is my new go-to for instant put together looks. To top it off, pair your outfits with a straw boater and classic bag.

Location: Here I am at The Buttery in South Boston. Loved the tiled floors and the pale yellow cups! I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on the new brunch places I find in London!

Thank you to Marks & Spencer for sponsoring this post!
